About Covgene

Welcome! The Coronavirus Host Genetics South Africa (COHG-SA) database is a resource developed by a coalition of researchers at the University of Pretoria's Institute for Cellular and Molecular Medicine (ICMM), the Centre for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology and the University of Cape Town with the goal of curating the current literature pertaining to host genetic factors that are associated with COVID-19 disease outcomes. The database consists of genes, variants and alleles that have been associated with COVID-19 disease susceptibility or severity outcomes. It provides a searchable research tool that can be used as a basis for exploring the genetic effect of COVID-19 disease.
